Kerry Washington is one of our favorite style stars and good reason--this lady knows how to rock anything from a simple power suit to a bold technicolor frock. So we were particularly excited to see how the "Scandal" actress was going to interpret the Met Gala's punk theme tonight. And she didn't disappoint.
Kerry opted for a purple, black and inky blue Vera Wang gown for the evening. The low-plunging neckline and peplum detailing definitely gave the look a feminine flair. However, the 36-year-old star added some edgy with armpit high leather gloves and wait for it...purple streaks in her hair!
"In honor of Vera's design I put all these purple highlights in my hair to have a punk moment," Kerry told model Hilary Rhoda during Vogue.com's live streaming of the red carpet. "I've never done anything like this before in my life!"
Well, she should definitely do it more often because she looked fantastic!
