The expected stars of?the?South by Southwest (SXSW) tech and music festival in Austin, Texas,?will come in the form of hardware startups, as small business technology experts suggest the?lowered costs of creating physical product have made the sector accessible to young businesses.
Inc Magazine reported scheduled seminars titled ?Why I Dropped Out of School for Hardware? and ?Hardware Hacking: From DIY to Revenue? are just a few of the?events small business funding veterans and hopeful startup founders will be attending during SXSW. Investments have been heavier than in previous years because of crowdfunding and?3D printing capabilities, which entrepreneurs have clearly taken advantage of.?The source claimed the festival should see a great deal of collaboration over its course with events like the Open Source Hardware Meet Up.
The New York Times spoke with Hugh Forrest, SXSW?s?interactive festival director, who agreed that hardware will be a popular theme at this year?s event.
